Kindergarten Program
(5-6 year olds)
The ark Kindergarten
program was designed with a low student-to-teacher ratio where children
can receive more individualized support. Children explore
language, phonics, reading skills, journal writing and
basic math concepts. Children get
plenty of opportunities to explore their creativity through art,
painting and music. Most important of all, spiritual foundations in a
nurturing environment set the platform to build upon for their future
life skills.

·
Writing
As a supplement to the Phonics and Friends
curriculum, we have incorporated Kid Writing from the
Wright Group Publishing, Inc. This curriculum uses a systematic
approach that enables our teachers to guide children through the
beginning and early stages of written language development.
·
Mathematics
Math strategies are incorporated by using a combination of
resources that develop the child’s understanding of math by introducing
and enriching their knowledge of numbers, operations, quantitative
concepts, and other needed math skills. Let’s Learn Math Books
by Carson-Dellosa, Teacher’s Helper/Math Kindergarten by
Mailbox, and guides from Frank Schaffer are some of the resources used.
